I remember exactly how it feels to be at square one in the branding game.

When I started my branding career in New York City (real life picture of me as a Junior Strategist, below!), I spent the first few years in what I like to call branding bootcamp. I was obsessed with learning the tricks of the trade, critiqued daily by industry leaders, and pushed to internalize the ins and outs of branding. I filled notebook after notebook with strategies, frameworks, processes, and best practices. I jotted down random wisdom from mentors and clients. I collected articles, conducted research, and curated tactics and tools.

And after years of studying and practicing the art and science of branding, I took a step back and realized—wow, I’ve got a handle on this branding thing.

Now I’m opening up my notebooks to you.


The agency world gave me the rare opportunity to work with some of the top brands in the world, from community organizations to global corporations. I worked with tech clients in boardrooms, ventured into the field with nonprofits, sat with students in higher ed classrooms, strategized with media companies, brought life and warmth to engineering organizations, and infused healthcare institutions with humanity and a shared sense of community.

The agency world taught me that while every client is different, there are simple brand strategies and frameworks that work powerfully across industries. It also showed me that the biggest barrier preventing businesses from making the important investment in brand is costwhat, you don’t have 5 or 6 figures laying around?—especially for emerging entrepreneurs and purpose-driven companies. That’s why I made it my mission to translate everything I know into accessible, affordable, self-guided tools for people using business as a force for good.

I wholeheartedly believe—because I’ve seen it—that when equipped with proven frameworks and a guided process, you can unlock and organize your ideas, inspiration and general genius, and build a powerful, freaking amazing brand all by yourself.
